Small Wars: Mohicans Overview

Small Wars: Mohicans is a strategic video game set in 1983 and inspired by the board game known as Mohawk. It is set from 1754 to 1760, during the French and Indian War, an important time in pre-modern areas of what we would recognize as Canada. The game begins just before the British take Quebec.

You control British or French troops, each with its own variety of units, such as local militias and specialty units like the Couriers des Bois for France and Rangers for Britain. The alliance of the neutral Iroquois Confederacy can tip the balance, so players also try to win them over.

The British plan to take over an important amount of French cities in North America. By 1760, if they captured either Montreal or Quebec and held three key cities, they would be the winners. If that doesn’t happen, then the French will win by default. French aspiration to hold large British cities, such as Albany and one of New York, Boston, or Philadelphia

Battles take place through different terrains where you can ambush, raid, and assault forts as part of the game. Forts can be constructed by players, and every new year, each player is provided with additional troops and resources.
